Inception, naming, branding and marketing project for my brother’s new business venture. The aspiring entrepreneur, personal trainer and basketball coach is a part of an Ontario youth summer business program and was in need of a name and brand for his newest project. MOVE – seemed to perfectly fit – and the colours I brought in are meant to be used playfully, mixed and matched for all of his future marketing.
Success? The logo has been so popular that tshirt requests and orders have been placed by total strangers, and plans to expand the line are underway.
Sheila Koop’s tutoring business needed a strong, bright brand. Font choice evokes learning to read and write, with fun youthful colours aimed at her young clientele.
Swedish- German photographer Dieter Stöpfgeshoff’s new studio gallery space, needed a clean bright new logo to be used for promotional materials – this red and black solution with san-serifs has helped propel his studio space in to a popular local gallery and events space.
Nothing makes me happier than working on projects for community-building organizations. The Bissell Hoop Project is a fundraising effort out of Centre Wellington, Ontario to bring high quality nets and a safe playing surface to the community of Elora.
Good luck Bissell Hoops, looking forward to practicing my hook shot there this summer!
Dieter Stöpfgeshoff recently turned his home office and studio into a stunning public gallery to showcase his work and feature the work of other artists and photographers. The space, tucked behind his house in Gävle, Sweden hasn’t been open for long but is already receiving large crowds and great praise. It was a treat to work with Dieter to bring his vision of a modern brand for this new space to life.
Below, some of the iterations we looked at, I played around with some ideas around framing and wanted the idea to work well in black and white so we could pop in colour later. In the end Dieter’s initial concept turned out to be our favourite!
It was such a joy to celebrate my dear friends Ben and Sonia this past summer at their wedding in Elora, and even more fun to work with them on the stationary for their big day. Ben and Sonia are two of the loveliest people I know, always giving and supporting their community and their friends and it was more than time to celebrate them. The wedding was held at the end of August in Elora at a park near their home, with dinner and reception following at the local Art Centre. It was a perfect community space for the big day; the grounds were freshly mowed and adorned with a large white tent, guests arrived to find an oyster shucking bar and wandered the lush lawn sipping on homemade cocktails in mason jars before they sat down to long wooden harvest tables laden with burlap runners and locally grown flowers. The night continued with Toronto’s best funk/soul/Motown/r&b band getting everyone moving and dancing and ended with a grand piano accompanied rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody. Surrounded by friends and family, these two incredible community builders and entrepreneurs deserved the party they had. Thanks for letting me a part of your incredible day guys! Lots of love!

Pictured above is the final cover put together for the Summer Edition of The Ontarion. More copies of the work can be found via the pdf archives below. Together with the Editor-in-Chief, we completed a complete rebrand of the paper including an iconic logo, and new formatting. During my time at as Layout Director I had the opportunity to spearhead and redesign the paper for a special Art&Design Edition. Featuring local artists the paper was born out of a desire to highlight the incredible on-campus talent as well as the Brutalist Architecture I had been working amongst during my time there. Here is a copy of that article as well as a link to the pdf edition.
